Learning outcomes

STAT trains new generations of researchers and professionals on the intervention strategies for complex geological and biological natural systems. STAT PhD doctors are able to collaborate with experts from different disciplines. Our goal is preparing the PhD graduates for the productive sector, academic institutions, national and international research centers, and the national education system. STAT provides solid theoretical and experimental training, using advanced methodologies and technologies for sustainable land management, the use and enhancement of natural resources, and the management of risks arising from natural and human activities.

The training involves Italian and international experts, stages at qualified research institutions, collaboration networks, national and international funding. Training includes advanced courses and seminars on innovative scientific topics, the development of theoretical and experimental research, and the use of advanced laboratory techniques. The ability of PhD students to analyze data, write, present, and disseminate their research results is also emphasized.

The program prepares PhD students to participate in national and international research calls and post-doctoral programs. This training offers a multidisciplinary perspective on land management, environmental transition, biodiversity, resource management, and geo-biological risks. STAT also collaborates with public institutions and private companies on issues related to territorial monitoring and the green economy.
