Raman Spectroscopy

LOCATION:

RESEARCH TOPICS: Raman spectroscopy is a non-destructive technique suited for the analysis of natural materials and manufacts based on the diffusion phenomenon of a monochromatic electromagnetic radiation by the analyzed sample. It is used in the study of materials, in the solid, liquid or in the gas state and has a wide range of applications and developments in the following fields:
- mineralogy, petrology and gemology, for the characterization of minerals, fluids and rocks of various nature and origin;
- cultural heritage;
- public health and environmental studies, for characterization of ecotoxic fibers and compounds and of microplastics)
- analysis of human, animal and plant cells and tissues.
