How to reach Perugia:

  • By plane
    • Perugia has its own airport (S.Egidio) but with very limited flights.
    • For international travellers, best is to land at Rome Fiumicino FCO and then take a bus (3 to 4 hours journey) or a train to Perugia. check the national railway Trenitalia for connection between Rome airport (Fiumicino) and Perugia, there is a connection almost every hour. Direct Coaches to Perugia depart from FCO three times a day by Sulga. Other Coaches to Perugia depart from Roma Tiburtina train station. You can get to Tiburtina from FCO by using the Leonardo Express train. From Tiburtina train station there is a good selection of Flixbus coaches to Perugia.
  • By car
    • if you are coming from Florence, then exit at Betolle and continue toward Perugia
    • if you are coming from Venice, drive along the E45 until Perugia.
    • if you are coming from the south exit the E35/A1 at Orte and continue along the E45 toward Perugia.
  • By train
    • once in italy you can get everywhere by using the national railway system Trenitalia. This is possibly also the best solution for all those attending pre- and post conference field trips to get to Perugia and back to their respective destinations.
