PNRR Projects

DISTAV actively participates in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), a program that includes investments and reforms with which the Italian government aims to overcome the economic and social impacts of the pandemic crisis.

The plan revolves around three strategic themes shared at the European level:
  1. digitalisation and innovation
  2. ecological transition
  3. social inclusion

Specifically, DISTAV is involved in "missione 4 componente 2 - dalla ricerca all'impresa" which aims to support research and development investments, promote innovation and the dissemination of technologies, and strengthen skills, fostering a transition to a knowledge-based economy.

The mission’s objectives include:

1. strengthening research and promoting the dissemination of innovative models for basic and applied research conducted in synergy between universities, research institutions, and public or private entities involved in research and development;
2. supporting processes for innovation and technology transfer;
3. enhancing research and innovation infrastructures, capital, and skills to support innovation.

The projects in which DISTAV participates are:

  • MEET Research Infrastructure: Monitoring Earth’s Evolution and Tectonics (https://meet.ingv.it/)
    Within this project, coordinated by INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology), DISTAV participates in two areas concerning the renewal of seismic stations in its network (RSNI-GU), which converge in the national monitoring system (WP 01), and the development of an Italian data exchange platform for solid earth sciences (WP 11).
  • National Centre NBFC - National Biodiversity Future Centre (https://www.nbfc.it/
    Within this National Centre, over forty researchers from DISTAV are involved in research and innovation activities concerning the monitoring, conservation, restoration, and enhancement of marine biodiversity (spoke 1 and spoke 2).
  • Ligurian Innovation Ecosystem RAISE - Robotics and AI for Socio-economic Empowerment (https://www.raiseliguria.it)
  • Extended Partnership RETURN - Multi-Risk Science for Resilient Communities under a Changing Climate (https://www.fondazionereturn.it)
    Nine researchers from DISTAV are involved in spoke VS2 (Soil instability), VS3 (Earthquakes and volcanoes), and VS4 (Environmental degradation).
  • SUS-MIRRI Research Infrastructure (https://www.sus-mirri.it/it/)
    This infrastructure involves 24 Operational Units (OU) across universities and national research institutions. Among these, DISTAV is involved with the Mycology Laboratory, which is upgrading its equipment to enhance the functionalities of its collection of filamentous fungi, aimed at developing Research, Services, and Training within the Italian network of microbial collections MIRRI-IT.
