RESEARCH TOPICS:
- Physiological response to stress in marine organisms, marine bivalves and fish in particular.
- Mechanisms of innate immunity and responses to pathogens in aquacultured bivalve species.
- Effects and mechanism of action of contaminants of emerging concern (i.e. endocrine disruptors, pharmaceuticals, nanomaterials).
- Early bivalve larval development: shell biogenesis and neurodevelopment.
- Determination of Biomarkers of stress in bivalve mollusks and fish in biomonitoring and aquaculture.
- Microscopical, biochemical, molecular analyses.
